GROUP Mini-Research Project
As in any university, students are required to work in small groups (2 or 3 persons) on some research projects to learn and build new knowledge, teamwork, and good sharing habits. As part of the UOL SG's guidelines, you are expected to learn and publish at least one web page - click here to learn HOW-TO publish report.

Report Requirements: Your team is required to research on the website of at least one transaction broker. Hotelrooms brokers (such as Accomline, Hotels, cTrip), airticket agents (such as Zuji.com) and insurance broker (such as inspro) are examples. A transaction broker provides coordination services and documentary supports between the buyers and sellers (of products and services). The transaction broker's online platform offers a range of products and services (offered by the selling parties, who are ultimately responsible for providing the products and services transacted through the transaction brokers). You will note that the transaction brokers neither own nor produce any of the products and services on offer, and are not resellers. As mentioned in our lectures, some firms may have more than one businesses (i.e. several business models) and your team need only to look at their transaction broker business.

Do not worry about other group researching the same company. Do note that technically ebay, amazon, paypal, SIA, tuition centres are all not transaction brokers. Please check your notes, and slide-no:40 on mini-research project specifications for this year.  A sample research report is provided on this link.

On completion, kindly email the URL link of your research report (together with email addresses of all your team members and their full names) to the lecturer-in charge once you have publish it. All URL links/projects of current and past-year students may be viewed here: current and past year publications.
